Howdy. John Hansen here.
I was raised by public school teachers in Miles City. I've been lucky to call Bozeman home for many years and recently I started a small business. Like so many Bozemanites, I'm faced with a harsh economic reality: if we don't start making Bozeman more livable now, it just don’t make any damn sense to stay here long term.
This election, we have a golden opportunity to kill the MAGA supermajority in Helena and forge a path to a better Montana. I'm ready to make Montana purple again!
I have a robust background in public policy and electoral politics. I began working and volunteering in Democratic politics on Jon Tester’s first Senate campaign in 2006. I began my career by working on Hillary Clinton’s first Presidential campaign in 2008. Later, I served as a national security and veterans affairs staffer to Senator Max Baucus. After Senator Baucus was appointed to be the ambassador to China in 2014, I moved to the Bay Area where my colleagues and I led campaigns that raised over a billion dollars for schools, libraries and open spaces during the 2014/2016 elections.
I know what it takes to do this work, I know what it takes to win, and I’ll be ready to serve in Helena on day one.
